GearByte warranty periods
- New products: 12 months from the date of delivery or collection.
- Refurbished and pre-owned products: 3 months from the date of delivery or collection.
The GearByte warranty covers product faults arising under normal intended use during the applicable warranty period. Warranty service may involve assessment, repair, replacement or another appropriate remedy after the fault has been confirmed.
How to request warranty support
Email gearbyte2026@gmail.com with your order number, product name, serial number where available, a clear description of the issue, and photographs or video where useful.
Please do not send a product back until return instructions have been provided. We may first ask you to complete reasonable troubleshooting steps or provide diagnostic information so the issue can be assessed efficiently.
Diagnostic tools, registration and activation
Vehicle and function coverage can vary by make, model, year, engine, control module, software version and tool model. Check the product description and the Vehicle Coverage Checker before ordering.
Some products require registration, activation, an app, an account or a paid subscription. Diagnostic devices that have been activated, registered or linked to an account are not eligible for a change-of-mind return. Activated or delivered software licences, subscriptions and digital products are also not eligible for a change-of-mind return.
Warranty exclusions
The GearByte warranty does not cover:
- accidental, impact, liquid or cosmetic damage;
- misuse, neglect, incorrect installation, unsuitable power supply or use outside the product instructions;
- unauthorised modification, disassembly or repair;
- normal wear, consumable parts or batteries where capacity loss is consistent with age and use;
- expired software subscriptions, paid updates or functions not included with the product;
- vehicle or function incompatibility that was disclosed in the listing or manufacturer coverage information; or
- missing serial labels, accessories or parts required to test the product.
Assessment and return costs
Returned products are inspected before a warranty claim is completed. If the product is found not to be faulty, or the issue falls outside the warranty coverage above, the customer may be responsible for reasonable inspection and return-delivery costs.
Refurbished and pre-owned products
Refurbished and pre-owned products include a 3-month GearByte warranty. The listing will describe the available condition information, included accessories and any known defects. Disclosed cosmetic wear, battery condition or other stated limitations are not treated as warranty faults.
